Caldecotts + Infographic = Awesome!
The great librarian guy over at 100 Scope Notes thought it was terribly sad to not have any children’s literature infographics out in the cyber-world; so he created this awesome Caldecott infographic last December (and updated it recently!) Being a designer at heart who adores infographics and is a wee bit obsessive for picture books, this just makes my heart sing.

Book Review: Along A Long Road By Frank Viva
Sometimes a book comes along that really just takes my breath away. Occasionally I’m prepared for it because it has intrigued me in some way by the reviews I’ve heard. Other times, I just feel my heart skip a little when I spy the cover. I open it wonderingly and wow, there it is. Such was the case with today’s book. Here is Along a Long Road by Frank Viva, 2011.

Book Review: So You Want To Be President? By St. George And Small
In honor of President’s Day, I bring a fun factual book to the table. I’ve mentioned before that I really didn’t like history much when I was growing up, so when I find fantastic books like this as an adult, I always wonder if this one would have made me love history. Would the child-me have laughed and memorized this one along with the nonsensical ones I knew so well? I sure hope it turns a few kids’ heads in that direction. Here is So You Want to be President? by Judith St. George, illustrated by David Small, 2000 (although I have the updated copy with Barack Obama added in).
