It is late on another Wednesday and I have been holding this wordless book interview for far too long as well. I fell in love with this book the first time I saw the trailer and I was delighted to receive a copy from Owlkids Books. A humorous story about a skunk in a terrible predicament traveling over a colorful and lively city – this book is a delightful way to usher out August and welcome in the next month. I hope you enjoy Skunk On A String by Thao Lam, 2016. And especially Thao’s lovely interview. I so enjoyed reading her answers!

Book Review: Bloom By Cronin & Small
First up, this new book from a favorite illustrator of mine, David Small. My girls were enamoured with this book and I loved every part of it, especially the powerful message about girls and to everyone. But I’m getting ahead of myself in the excitement. I have yet to meet a Julie Morstad book that I didn’t just swoon over. Her newest book is absolutely no exception. When I heard about its release and that it was a book of poems written by the wonderful Julie Fogliano, I ran to my local independent bookstore and swept up a copy. This is a beautiful collection of “Poems for All Seasons” that combine short, relatable, poems with stunning illustrated snapshots of everyday, seasonal life.

Spring has apparently squashed my life, or at least my blogging ability. But, I am attempting to resurface with this silly trio about a little creature that has captured our attention the most this spring. Robins were one of the first things we noticed as spring hinted its arrival and they became a very delightful sight for my girls to point out every time one crossed our path in the busy city. They are such friendly birds with their bright orange tummies and spirited hopping about. Robins won’t let you ignore spring and all the changes it signals. So let’s read three books about robins!
