Wordless Wednesday: Pool By JiHyeon Lee

Pardon that short and unexpected two week break from my Wednesday series. I have no good excuse except parental exhaustion. But I am back for another Wordless Wednesday post. I received this book early this summer from Chronicle Books as review potential. While pool season is over in most of the U.S., I still find myself diving into this book as often as possible. I find it entrancing, imaginative, soothing, and a pleasure to indulge, especially on days when I just need a deep breath and a break.

Book Review: Goodnight Songs – A Celebration Of The Seasons By Margaret Wise Brown

Although books about the seasons are lovely reading any time of year, there is something about the coming of autumn and all the changes it brings that feels even more appropriate for reading about the seasons. Fall is my favorite season, but I am always willing to ponder the things to love about every season. And luckily, we have a gorgeous new book out this August that provides not only stunning imagery, but includes beautiful songs originally written by Margaret Wise Brown.

I have debated on saving today’s book in our picture book countdown for December 26th, but then I realized that I will be ready for a break from posting daily by then and this book is too good to chance forgetting to post about. Why wait until December 26th? Well, today’s lovely uncoated paper, graphic beauty is a story about what happens after Christmas when all the chaos and planning and hubbub is over for Santa and his North Pole team.
