It’s been a busy first week here at Three Books a Night. Hopefully it has given you a taste of what to expect, even as I tweak and figure things out myself. Sending you into the holiday weekend with some fun links about books coming out and other book-related news:
Mem Fox’s new book, Tell Me About Your Day.
I love Mem Fox’s poetic writings, especially Time For Bed. Will be interested to see the artist, Lauren Stringer, whom she is paired with this time. It is so crucial to find the perfect illustrator for her beautiful text.
Awesome Roald Dahl mugs.

Although I’m a bit sad that they are called Roald Dahl mugs considering the images are by Quentin Blake. No love for the artist! I want one anyway.
New Berenstain Bears book coming out with 3 out-of-print classics in 1 volume!
I currently own only 1 of the 3, so I’m psyched to see this new release coming in January. Thankful for the news from Vintage Kids’ Books.
Two fascinating articles about self-publishing children’s books.

One at indiereader.com and the other on the blurberati blog. This is a really interesting concept in the world of picture books. On the one hand, I love the initiative, creative control, and mom-and-pop feel; but on the other hand, the quality control of content and art may not be there. Although, quality control isn’t marvelous in the publishing industry anyway. This will be interesting to keep an eye on.
Three Books a Night was mentioned in the blog world!

Indulge me as I toot my own horn and read about it at English Muse and Stuck Inside of Knoxville!
Thanks for reading! Have a great Labor Day and see you next week.

Caryn, I’m loving the blog so far! Just wanted to let you know that 3-in-1 Berenstain Bears book is and has been available through Sonlight for a while. It’s what we used as the basis for Mariana’s preschool science. Sonlight’s prices are usually really good on old books like that too. So maybe you don’t have to wait till January after all!

Thanks Tina! That is so interesting that they’ve already released it but are announcing it as a new release. Must be a marketing ploy. Thanks for giving me the heads up. Now that I think about it, I remember reading to Mariana from that book. I assumed it was something different when I saw this “release” announcement. Thanks for reading!
