Book Review: No Such Thing By Ella Bailey

First up, I am aching to tell you about this brand new Halloween book just out from Flying Eye Books. I am really in love with the books that Flying Eye publishes. If I could get my hands on all of them, I definitely would. But I digress, the newest book for today is a Halloween book I will happily indulge as it is cute, fun, clever, and not the least bit scary. This is the kind of book I would have preferred as a child for this holiday and I delight in sharing with my daughter. Here is No Such Thing by Ella Bailey, 2014.

How To Make A Children’s Book Character Costume (Part 4)

For our final portion of children’s picture book costumes, I bring some rather obscure, bizarre, ridiculously easy, and just plain comical ideas. I really had way too much fun with this. (Don’t miss Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.) These are all less character ideas and more “be the book,” “be part of the book,” “be something mentioned in the book….” Just have some fun!

How To Make A Children’s Book Character Costume (Part 3)

And we are back today with Part 3 of our children’s picture book costume ideas. (See Part 1 and Part 2.) Today’s grouping is much smaller and might speak more strongly to the hearts of boys. These are some fun, active characters with bold moves and outfits. Let’s see some more character costume ideas!

How To Make A Children’s Book Character Costume (Part 2)

Yesterday we started a mini-series on children’s book character costumes. Tonight I bring Part 2! This is a larger grouping of characters, male and female, and most of them would be excellent adult costumes as well. As with Part 1, there are some classic characters, some more obscure, and some brand new. Let’s imagine some costumes!

How To Make A Children’s Book Character Costume (Part 1)

It’s that time of year again for all sorts of crazy costuming. While this holiday is still not my favorite, I have taken great pleasure in coming up with some more children’s book characters that would be somewhat simple to create costumes. Actually, I may have gone a little overboard with these ideas but once I got started, I just couldn’t stop thinking of more! So, I’m going to break it up into several posts.

Let’s Read Three: Art Museum Books

One of the many things I already love about city living is the many museums that surround us. We have visited three art museums so far and are anxiously discussing and planning our next available days to visit more. I am overjoyed to pass on our love of art to our daughters and what better tool to aid that endeavor than gorgeous picture books that celebrate and discuss art museums! Have a look at three picture books that revel in the joys, etiquette, mystery and adventure that comes with visiting an art museum.
