Let’s Read Three: Pancakes Books

It’s been a while since I did a Let’s Read Three grouping. I love putting these together and am brainstorming them all the time, silly and serious. Today, I bring a silly, but incredibly important one for weekend traditions… at least in our family. We love pancakes and consider them a somewhat mandatory item for weekend breakfasting, or let’s be honest – an occasional dinner. So of course we love books about pancakes! All three of these books are vintage, spanning the 60s and 70s; but the last one is actually a recent reprint from Princeton Architectural Press that releases this month. And it is gorgeous! A perfect addition to our trio of delicious reading. Let’s read three books about pancakes!

25 Days – Book 16: Christmas Is Together-Time

Continuing on our Christmas picture book countdown, it is time for some vintage. And who better than Charlie Brown for sentimental, nostalgic, tongue-in-cheek, festive reading? This is one of the small gift books from the 60s and it is hysterical, charming, thought-provoking, smile-inducing, and chock full of Peanuts characters. Add in one color, black ink on bright red and green paper, and I am sold! Here is Christmas is Together-Time by Charles M. Schulz, 1964.

Tonight I bring lots of pictures of a lovely little vintage book for the 25 Days countdown. I finally tracked this book down this year and I cannot resist sharing several spreads, knowing how delightful they are and also how difficult this book is to come by. Let’s Read Three: Books About The Sea!

Summer is in full swing here and it is hot. So hot, that most people have fled to the beach to take refuge in the cool water, shady umbrellas, and chilled beverages. My August does not hold such plans, so instead I think it appropriate to read about such sea escapees. It’s time for another in the Let’s Read Three series.
